No fewer than 20,000 applicants are taking part in the ongoing zonal general aptitude test for the Nigerian Air Force’s 2025 Basic Military Training Course (BMTC) 46 recruitment exercise.
The exercise is being held at 15 zonal centres across the country, including locations in Sokoto, Minna, Kaduna, Kano, Bauchi, Maiduguri, Yola, Makurdi, Jos, Ilorin, Ipetu-Ijesa, Enugu, Benin, Port Harcourt, and Ikeja.
Air Commodore Ehimen Ejodame, the Nigerian Air Force’s spokesperson, stated on Sunday that the wide geographic spread demonstrates the NAF’s commitment to inclusivity, equal opportunity, and a transparent recruitment process based on merit, allowing qualified Nigerians from all regions to compete fairly.

He added, “The impressive turnout highlights the ongoing confidence Nigerian youths have in the Nigerian Air Force as a disciplined, professional, and patriotic institution.”
Ejodame also emphasised the NAF’s determination to attract capable, motivated, and resilient young Nigerians, especially in light of the current security challenges facing the nation, which require increased manpower to support internal security operations and national defence.
The Chief of Air Staff (CAS), Air Marshal Sunday Aneke, has reiterated that the recruitment process must uphold fairness, integrity, and strict adherence to established standards.
He described the aptitude test as a vital stage in assembling a motivated and mission-ready force and assured Nigerians of the NAF’s continued commitment to internal security operations and the protection of citizens’ lives and property as part of its constitutional duties.

“The Nigerian Air Force remains firmly dedicated to recruiting the best candidates based on merit, recognising that the quality of personnel is essential to operational success and fulfilling our constitutional responsibilities,” Ejodame concluded.
