A 100-level Mass Communication student of Taraba State University, Comfort Jimtop Oliver, has been found dead at her boyfriend’s residence in Jalingo.
Her lifeless body was discovered on Friday, September 12, 2025, in a room located in the Bakasi area of Jalingo, near Dr. Rapha’s quarters, opposite the Vice-Chancellor’s gate.
Comfort, a native of Takum Local Government Area and a member of the Kuteb ethnic group, reportedly died under unclear circumstances. Authorities have since launched an investigation to determine the cause of her death.
Police sources revealed that empty bottles of hard drinks were found beside the bed where she died.
“By the time the matter was reported to our station located at the university gate, nobody was found in the house which has over 15 tenants. The owner of the room, believed to be the boyfriend of the deceased, was not found and is currently at large. We are investigating the incident,” a senior police officer said.
