Pastor Oloruntimilehin Daramola has sparked controversy after urging his congregation to use juju and other unconventional methods to protect themselves from attacks.
A viral TikTok video, posted on a page believed to be his, @kingbosoro, shows the cleric dressed in a purple robe and cap with a cross chain, delivering a sermon that has drawn widespread attention. Independent verification of his identity, the TikTok account, and the date of the sermon is still unavailable.
In the video, Daramola, who identifies as the Founder of The Omnipotence Mission of God, told his followers to take whatever steps necessary to shield themselves from armed assailants. He also called on the Federal Government to allow wider gun ownership for Nigerians.
“You members, go and do something that can protect you, so that if they come with guns to your surroundings, they will face each other and shoot each other,” he said, urging extreme measures, including using bees or other unconventional tactics against attackers.
The pastor warned that any member who refuses to follow his directives would be expelled. “I cannot allow my members to be killed. Anyone who does not get fortified will be sent away,” he added.
He justified his stance by referencing past attacks, noting that victims who called on Jesus during assaults were not spared. “In Owo, some people shouted the name of Jesus, but they were still killed. The same happened in Kaduna. Jesus said, ‘We will meet in heaven,’” he stated.
Daramola also claimed that his ministry has branches in America, London, and Nigeria, inviting people to meet him privately for guidance on protective measures. Addressing critics, he said, “If they like, call me a charm pastor. I don’t have powers, but if you put me on the ground, I will bite you.”
His remarks have gone viral amid ongoing security challenges in Nigeria, including attacks on churches, schools, and communities. Notable incidents include the 2022 attack on St. Francis Catholic Church in Owo, Ondo State; the November 2025 shooting at Christ Apostolic Church in Eruku, Kwara State, where 38 abducted worshippers were later freed; and the abduction of over 300 students and staff from St. Mary’s Catholic School in Papiri, Niger State, many of whom remain in captivity.
