Presidency Slams El Rufai Over ₦432bn Fraud
The Presidency has accused former Kaduna State governor, Nasir El Rufai, of spreading false claims in a bid to stir tension and shift focus from ₦432 billion corruption allegations hanging over him.
The response comes amid rising exchanges between both sides.
Officials said the former governor has been making statements aimed at distracting the public from ongoing scrutiny tied to his time in office.
They insisted that attempts to twist the narrative would not erase questions surrounding the financial claims.
According to the Presidency, public discourse should not be turned into a tool for personal defence.
It maintained that accountability remains key and that allegations involving public funds must be addressed through proper channels.
The latest clash adds to the growing political rift, as attention now turns to how the claims and counterclaims will unfold in the coming weeks.
