First Lady Remi Tinubu has revealed that N20 billion has been raised from her birthday well-wishers to support the completion of the long-delayed National Library project in Abuja.
Speaking during a lunch briefing with State House correspondents at the Presidential Villa on Tuesday, two days after turning 65, Mrs Tinubu said the donations are still coming in. “This is what we can do as a nation,” she remarked.
The National Library, first launched in 1981 under late President Shehu Shagari, has an estimated completion cost of about N100 billion.
“I know that we can finish this project. I have played my part,” the First Lady added.
