Resident Doctors Begin Indefinite Strike
The National Association of Resident Doctors has announced a total and indefinite strike set to begin at midnight on Tuesday, April 7.
The action follows rising tension between the union and the Federal Government over unresolved issues.
The doctors said the decision came after what they described as repeated failures by authorities to address their concerns.
They accused the government of pushing the health sector into another avoidable crisis through delays and unmet commitments.
The strike is expected to disrupt services in public hospitals across the country, affecting patient care and medical operations.
Resident doctors play a key role in daily hospital services, making their absence likely to be widely felt.
The union said it would remain on strike until its demands are met, raising fresh concerns about the stability of Nigeria’s healthcare system.
