Saraki Clears Tinubu Of Betrayal
Former Senate President Bukola Saraki has said President Bola Tinubu had no role in the political and legal challenges he faced under former President Muhammadu Buhari.
Speaking during a television interview, Saraki said it would be unfair to blame Tinubu for events that happened during the previous administration.
He explained that his troubles were linked to decisions he made as Senate President, which he believed were in the national interest.
He added that Tinubu was not involved in actions taken against him, including legal cases and investigations at the time, stressing that those decisions came from the executive arm of government then in power.
Saraki also dismissed claims of any political alliance with Tinubu or the All Progressives Congress ahead of the 2027 elections.
He insisted he has not held private meetings with the president and does not engage in hidden political deals.
The former Senate President said his political stance remains open and transparent, rejecting suggestions that he is working behind the scenes with the ruling party.
