APC Governors And Delegates Gather In Abuja
In Abuja, President Bola Tinubu, 32 governors and thousands of delegates have started arriving for the national convention of the All Progressives Congress.
The event is set to take place at Eagle Square.
The convention will bring together over 8,000 delegates from across the country to elect new members of the party’s National Working Committee.
It is also expected to shape the party’s direction ahead of the 2027 elections.
Information Minister Mohammed Idris said the gathering will help align party structures with the government’s agenda and strengthen internal unity.
While preparations are in full swing, some members have raised concerns about alleged exclusion from the process.
However, party leaders insist issues are being handled internally to avoid disruptions.
The large turnout has already impacted the city, with increased security and full hotels. Authorities earlier asked some workers to stay home to reduce congestion during the event.
