The Senate is set to conduct the screening of service chiefs appointed by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu tomorrow (Wednesday).
Senate President Godswill Akpabio made this announcement after reading a letter from President Tinubu, which forwarded the nominees to the Senate for screening and confirmation.
The service chiefs nominated for screening and confirmation are the Chief of Defence Staff, General Olufemi Oluyede; the Chief of Army Staff, Major-General Waheedi Shaibu; the Chief of Air Staff, Air Vice Marshal Kennedy Aneke; and the Chief of Naval Staff, Rear Admiral Idi Abbas.
According to the Presidency, these appointments are part of a strategic restructuring aimed at strengthening professionalism, improving morale, and enhancing inter-agency collaboration in national security operations.
