VeryDarkMan has shown appreciation to Blord after the tech entrepreneur withdrew his cease-and-desist order concerning the Ratel brand, putting an end to the recent public spat between them.
The disagreement began when Blord declared his plan to become the sole owner of the Ratel name — a label closely tied to VeryDarkMan and his fanbase — and threatened legal action to enforce his trademark claim. VeryDarkMan fired back, insisting that Ratel is more than a registered name. “There can only be one Ratel. True ownership is about authenticity, not paperwork,” he stated.
Hours later, Blord disclosed that he had received calls from “top men across the country,” influential figures who pleaded with him to show mercy and allow VeryDarkMan to continue using the brand. He subsequently announced the withdrawal of the cease-and-desist order, adding that fans should now recognize VeryDarkMan as their CEO, signing off as Linus Williams — CEO/Founder, Ratel Groups.
In response, VeryDarkMan posted a video expressing gratitude, with tears in his eyes, thanking Blord for the gesture. Some have speculated whether his appreciation was entirely sincere, given his earlier pointed remarks in the dispute.
The incident highlights the ongoing conversations around branding, authenticity, and influence in Nigeria’s entertainment and digital space, with Ratel continuing to serve as a key part of VeryDarkMan’s identity and fan culture.
