Elder statesman and distinguished Nigerian diplomat Dr. Christopher Kolade has passed away at the age of 93, his family announced in a statement.
“We are thankful for his incredible life of faith and service, and are grateful for God’s abundant blessings,” the family said.
According to the statement, Dr. Kolade died peacefully on Wednesday, October 8, 2025.
Born on December 28, 1932, in Erin-Oke, Osun State, Dr. Kolade had a long and remarkable career that spanned broadcasting, academia, and diplomacy. He was widely celebrated for his integrity, leadership, and unwavering commitment to transparency and good governance.
Throughout his life, Dr. Kolade served as an inspiration to many, earning deep respect for his contributions to public service and national development.
