WhatsApp has introduced native multi-account support for iPhone users, finally aligning the iOS experience with what is already available on Android devices.
iPhone users can now add up to two WhatsApp accounts on a single device. Each account operates independently, with separate chats, notifications, privacy settings and profile details. Switching between accounts is done through a new “Account List” feature within the Settings menu.
The feature is currently accessible to beta testers using iOS version 25.34.10.72 and newer. Android users have had access to similar multi-account support since 2023.
The update aims to offer a more convenient option for individuals managing both work and personal numbers without needing a second phone or relying on the WhatsApp Business app. Notifications are clearly tagged to indicate which account they belong to, while Face ID or Touch ID is required when accessing secured accounts.
Analysts believe the development reflects changing user behaviour, as more people manage multiple roles or identities from a single device. It also places WhatsApp closer to competing platforms that already support multiple profiles.
Although no official public release date has been announced, early-access users in some regions have begun receiving the feature.
Wider rollout is expected soon as WhatsApp expands tools focused on flexibility, linked devices and improved privacy options.
