The faction of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) supported by FCT Minister Nyesom Wike has announced urgent meetings of the party’s Board of Trustees (BoT) and National Executive Committee (NEC), set for Tuesday, November 18, 2025.
The announcement came via a notice issued Monday by the faction’s National Secretary, Samuel Anyanwu. The notice, shared on Anyanwu’s X account by Wike’s media aide Lere Olayinka, confirmed that both meetings will take place at the NEC Hall in the PDP National Secretariat at Wadata Plaza, Abuja.
The Board of Trustees meeting is scheduled to start at 11 a.m., followed by the NEC session at 2 p.m. The notice stressed that attendance is critical due to the discussion of important party issues.
Earlier reports indicated that during the PDP’s 2025 National Convention held in Ibadan, Oyo State, several prominent members—including Wike, Anyanwu, former National Legal Adviser Kamaldeen Ajibade, ex-Ekiti Governor Ayo Fayose, and Imo PDP Chairman Austin Nwachukwu—were expelled for alleged anti-party activities.
The expulsion motion was introduced by former Deputy National Chairman (South) Bode George and seconded by Bauchi State PDP Chairman Samaila Buga. Governor Bala Mohammed of Bauchi State, also chair of the PDP Governors’ Forum, put the motion to a voice vote, which the delegates overwhelmingly supported, reflecting the party’s determination to tackle internal dissent and disciplinary issues.
