Today, November 8, marks the day when over 2.8 million registered voters in Anambra State will head to the polls to elect their next governor.
Voters will either choose to re-elect the incumbent, Professor Chukwuma Soludo of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), or give another candidate among the 15 challengers a chance to lead the state.
The election features 16 contenders, including key figures such as Prof. Chukwuma Soludo (APGA), Prince Nicholas Ukachukwu (All Progressives Congress, APC), and Sir Paul Chukwuma (Young Progressives Party, YPP).

Others in the race include Mr John Nwosu (African Democratic Congress, ADC), Dr George Moghalu (Labour Party, LP), Oti Echezona (Allied People’s Movement, APM), and Chief Jeff Nweke (Action Alliance, AA).
Also contesting are Charles Onyeze (Accord), Geoffrey Onyejegbu (New Nigeria People’s Party, NNPP), Jude Ezenwafor (Peoples Democratic Party, PDP), Chukwududem Nweke (Action Peoples Party, APP), Jerry Okeke (Boot Party, BP), Martin Ugwoji (Zenith Labour Party, ZLP), and Vincent Chukwurah (Social Democratic Party, SDP).
The two female governorship candidates are Chioma Ifemeludike of the African Action Congress (AAC) and Ndidi Olieh of the National Rescue Movement (NRM).
Additionally, six women are vying for the position of deputy governor: Appolonia Ezeadili (Accord), Senator Uche Ekwunife (APC), Ebele Okeke (APP), Happiness Ugboma (BP), Veronica Okaro (LP), and Faith Obi (ZLP).
