The Association of Resident Doctors in the Federal Capital Territory Administration (ARD-FCTA) has called off its indefinite strike, suspending the industrial action for four weeks.
This was confirmed by ARD-FCTA President, Dr. George Ebong, who announced this in a brief statement on Monday.
The doctors expressed optimism that the Federal Capital Territory Minister, Nyesom Wike, will follow through on all approvals granted, including enhancements to doctors’ welfare.
Dr. Ebong said, “ARD-FCTA has suspended its strike for four weeks with the hope that the approvals from Mr. Minister will be implemented.”
This suspension follows closely on the heels of the National Association of Resident Doctors halting their strike, which had started on November 1, 2025, marking a hopeful step toward resolving ongoing health sector disputes.
