Atiku Not Moved by Obi Kwankwaso Talks
Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar’s camp has said the proposed alliance between Labour Party presidential candidate Peter Obi and ex-Kano governor Rabiu Kwankwaso does not threaten his political plans.
Atiku’s spokesperson, Paul Ibe, explained that the former Vice President remains focused on his own political path and welcomes the participation of other actors who are concerned about the country’s future.
The comments came amid speculation that Kwankwaso’s moves could shift political dynamics ahead of the 2027 elections. Atiku’s camp dismissed such fears, stressing that alliances and political choices by others are part of normal democratic activity.
Ibe added that Atiku’s main concern is Nigeria’s direction, not personal rivalry, and that the party continues to encourage collaboration among those seeking to address the nation’s challenges.
The spokesperson said Atiku remains calm and committed to his agenda, emphasizing that emerging political alignments will not influence his focus or plans.
