Veteran Nollywood actor Chiwetalu Agu has dismissed recent rumours of his death, calling them false and urging fans and family to ignore them.

In a video posted on Instagram Friday, Agu said, “Fans and family, please disregard any rumours about my death and report the page of the blogger who started spreading them. By God’s grace, I am very much alive.”

In the video, he added, “Chief Chiwetalu Agu, Okenmiri n’Ezoru Oha 1 of Etiti Amokwe, Enugu State, is not going anywhere soon. I will be the one to bury my enemies. Whoever digs a pit will fall into it; whoever digs a grave will fall inside. I am yet to carry my grandchildren, and I intend to do so in good health when my children are ready.”

He noted that if the false report had come from a major blogger, he would have taken legal action for defamation and economic loss. However, the blogger responsible “is still struggling with likes,” he said.

“What amazes me is that in 2025, many people still believe such rumours without verifying the facts. Fans and family, ignore these stories and challenge anyone spreading such malicious news about me,” Agu added.

His clarification comes after an online blogger falsely claimed he had died, causing confusion among his admirers.
