Parents Reject Oyo Relief, Demands Return Of Children
The traditional ruler of a community affected by the recent school abduction in Oyo State has disclosed that families of the kidnapped pupils turned down food items and financial support offered by the government, insisting that their priority is the safe return of their children.
According to the monarch, the parents remain distressed by the continued captivity of the victims and believe no amount of assistance can replace the joy of having their children back home.
The appeal comes weeks after the abduction shocked communities in the state.
The royal father said residents are united in their demand for urgent action from security agencies and government authorities.
He noted that families are more concerned about rescue efforts than welfare packages.
The incident has continued to draw public concern, with community leaders, parents and other stakeholders urging authorities to intensify efforts to secure the release of the abducted pupils and teachers.
