A heated confrontation broke out in the Senate on Wednesday after several lawmakers opposed an attempt to let former Chief of Defence Staff and ministerial nominee, General Christopher Musa (rtd), skip questioning.
Tension rose when the Senator representing Niger East, Sani Musa, proposed that the nominee should simply “take a bow and go”.
His suggestion was met with instant resistance as multiple senators stood up, shouting in disagreement and throwing the chamber into commotion.
The Senate had commenced the screening of General Musa for the position of Minister of Defence earlier on Wednesday before the disagreement erupted.
