President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has arrived in Tokyo, Japan, for an official visit aimed at strengthening bilateral relations and boosting economic cooperation between both nations.
Tinubu landed in the Japanese capital at 1:00 a.m. local time on Monday, where he was received by Ambassador Hideo Matsubara, Japan’s representative for the Tokyo International Conference on African Development (TICAD).
According to a statement by his Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, the visit will focus on enhancing collaboration in trade, technology, infrastructure, renewable energy, and education.
The President is expected to meet senior Japanese government officials, top business executives, and major technology firms to seek improved trade relations, technology transfer, and investment opportunities to accelerate Nigeria’s industrialisation drive.
“This official visit underscores President Tinubu’s commitment to expanding Nigeria’s international partnerships and attracting foreign investment that will drive Nigeria’s economic transformation,” Onanuga said.
