President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is set to embark on a three-state visit this weekend, with scheduled trips to Borno, Bauchi and Lagos States.
The development was announced on Friday in a statement issued by the President’s Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga.
According to the statement, Tinubu will first arrive in Borno State, where he is expected to commission a number of federal and state projects in the company of Governor Babagana Zulum.
While in Maiduguri, the President will also attend the wedding ceremony of Sadeeq Sheriff, son of former Borno State Governor, Senator Ali Modu Sheriff, who will be joined in marriage to Hadiza Kam Salem.
After his engagement in Borno, President Tinubu will proceed to Bauchi State to commiserate with the family of the late Sheikh Dahiru Bauchi, the renowned Islamic scholar and leader of the Tijjaniyya Muslim Brotherhood, who died on November 27.
Following the Bauchi visit, the President will travel to Lagos, where he is expected to spend the end-of-year holidays.
During his stay in Lagos, Tinubu will serve as the guest of honour at the Eyo Festival scheduled for December 27 at the Tafawa Balewa Square.
The festival will honour several prominent personalities, including the President’s mother, Alhaja Abibatu Mogaji, as well as former Lagos State Governors Alhaji Lateef Jakande and Chief Michael Otedola.
