The Nnamdi Azikiwe University community has continued to thrive under the leadership of the Acting Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Carol Chinyelugo Arinze-Umobi. In line with her administration’s vision, “Feeling the Pulse of Students, Staff, and Finding Solutions,” Prof. Arinze-Umobi has provided a timely solution to the challenges of darkness and insecurity on campus through the installation of solar-powered street lights.

The solar-powered lights, which illuminate the university’s walkways and student hostels, have not only enhanced safety but also brought new life to the community. Students and staff can now study, work, and socialize without the burden of darkness, and the university’s security personnel can patrol the campus with greater ease.
Prof. Arinze-Umobi’s decision to install the solar-powered lights is rooted in her belief that where there’s no light, there’s no life, hence, the light up Unizik vision is in line with her unwavering commitment to the welfare and success of students and staff.
