Four Killed In Ilorin Cult Attack, Police Arrest Suspects
Four people lost their lives while two others sustained injuries after suspected cultists opened fire in the Post Office area of Ilorin, the Kwara State capital.
The attack occurred on Sunday night when armed men reportedly stormed a bamboo bar along the railway corridor and shot at people gathered there.
Police officers responded to a distress call and rushed the victims to a medical facility for treatment. However, four of the victims were confirmed dead, while two others survived and are receiving medical attention for gunshot wounds.
Preliminary investigations by the Kwara State Police Command linked the incident to cult-related violence.
Detectives have already arrested two suspects believed to be connected to the attack and are gathering information to identify and apprehend other members of the group.
The police condemned the killings and assured residents that efforts were underway to bring all those involved to justice.
Security operatives have also been deployed to prevent further violence and maintain peace in the area.
