Adelabu Rejects Oyo APC Primary Outcome
The Oyo State governorship aspirant of the All Progressives Congress, Adebayo Adelabu, has raised concerns over the conduct of the party’s primary election held across the state on Thursday.
He said the process was not fair and described it as flawed in several areas.
Adelabu spoke with journalists after voting at IMG School in Ward 9, Ibadan South-East Local Government Area.
He alleged that many of his supporters were stopped from voting, while some wards did not allow proper voting to take place.
He claimed that in several locations, results were allegedly written before the arrival of voters, adding that some party officials carried out affirmations instead of a proper election.
He also said there was no consensus agreement as claimed by some organisers.
The aspirant said he would submit formal complaints over what happened during the exercise and called for a proper review of the process.
Despite the controversy, he secured 430 votes at his ward, while his closest rival, Senator Sharafadeen Alli, polled 3 votes.
