The Edo State House of Assembly has officially summoned Hon. Natasha Irobosa, the Egor Constituency representative, to appear before the Ethics and Privileges Committee within one week.
The summons is to allow her to defend herself against allegations of misconduct related to her recent behaviour that has attracted widespread attention online.
During plenary, Speaker Blessing Agbebaku stated that Irobosa’s actions have tarnished the reputation of the Assembly.
He said, “Hon. Natasha Irobosa is required to appear before the Ethics and Privileges Committee due to her recent conduct, which has gone viral online.
“This behaviour has brought the name of the House into disrepute, and members are expected to uphold high standards of conduct.
“Our Assembly consists of intelligent, educated individuals who have been unfairly maligned by the actions of our colleague. Her recent online presence has been for all the wrong reasons.
“This House will not tolerate any conduct that diminishes its integrity.”
The Speaker further mentioned that the committee would present its findings to the House within two weeks.
Irobosa has been trending lately following the circulation of a video showing a heated dispute between her and her husband, musician Innocent Idibia, popularly known as 2Baba.
