Afrobeats star David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, has responded to the news of his uncle, Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke, resigning from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
Davido shared the announcement on his X account on Tuesday with the caption “Jeje…”, which many interpreted as a calm call amid the unfolding political drama.
Governor Adeleke’s resignation, made public on Monday night, was contained in a letter dated November 4, 2025, addressed to the chairman of Ward 2 in Ede North.
He cited ongoing leadership crises within the PDP national structure as his reason for leaving the party.
The move has cast uncertainty over the PDP’s governorship primary ahead of the 2026 Osun State election.
While the state chapter announced a postponement of the primary due to internal conflicts, the PDP National Working Committee insisted the primary would proceed as planned, despite Adeleke being the sole candidate to have purchased the nomination form.
