The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission has summoned the former Attorney-General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Abubakar Malami (SAN), for questioning.
Malami confirmed the invitation in a statement shared on his personal Facebook page on Friday.
The former minister, who served under ex-President Muhammadu Buhari from 2015 to 2023, assured Nigerians that he is fully prepared to appear before the agency.
In his words, “I am informing my family and friends that EFCC has invited me to clarify on some issues, and as a citizen of law and order and patriot, I am willing to honor this invitation without any hesitation.”
He added that he remains committed to the values he has always promoted in public office, stating, “I believe in the importance of honesty, integrity and honesty in leadership — these are principles I’ve long supported and uphold, over the years I’ve spent in public service.”
Malami concluded by noting that he would keep Nigerians informed of subsequent developments, saying he wanted the public to be aware of what unfolds, given “his current life and history.”
