New Political Crisis Hits Ebonyi APC
Fresh cracks have emerged in the political space in Ebonyi State after several top figures dumped the All Progressives Congress and the All Progressives Grand Alliance.
The wave of resignations followed the recent consensus arrangement adopted by the APC ahead of the 2027 National Assembly and House of Assembly elections in the state.
Among those who left the APC are businessman Chief Christian Asaga Nwali, businessman Chief Chibuike Orogwu and Emmanuel Ofoke.
In separate resignation letters sent to party leaders, the politicians blamed their exit on personal decisions and growing concerns over happenings within the party structure after the emergence of consensus candidates.
Former APGA governorship candidate and ex-Vice Chancellor of Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Professor Bernard Odoh, also resigned from the party.
He explained that he no longer had enough involvement in party affairs despite being a member of the Board of Trustees, making it difficult for him to continue effectively within the organisation.
Odoh said his decision came after careful reflection and a desire to allow better coordination within the party.
Despite quitting APGA, he maintained that he would continue supporting efforts aimed at peace, stability and development in Ebonyi State and across Nigeria.
