Repentant Bandit Abducts And Kills At Kaduna
A commercial driver, Mallam Ibrahim Adamu, was killed by armed attackers along the Kaduna–Birnin Gwari highway in Kaduna State.
The victim, said to be a grandson of a district head in the Birnin Gwari Emirate, lost his life during an attack at Kwanan Giginya, where gunmen reportedly opened fire on his vehicle.
The attackers were said to have abducted about five passengers travelling in the vehicle before escaping from the scene.
The incident has added to growing concerns over safety along the busy highway, which has witnessed repeated attacks in recent years.
In a separate incident, four farmers were reportedly kidnapped while working on their farms in the Kurgi area of Birnin Gwari Local Government Area.
The victims were carrying out their daily activities when gunmen stormed the area and took them away to an unknown destination.
Residents say the latest attacks have deepened fears across communities and disrupted farming and movement in the area.
They called on security agencies to strengthen patrols and improve protection for travellers and farmers facing persistent threats.
