Lamine Yamal has made history by winning the 2025 Kopa Trophy, becoming the first player to claim the award in consecutive years.
The 18-year-old Barcelona winger received the honor at the 69th Ballon d’Or ceremony on September 22, 2025, at the Théâtre du Châtelet in Paris. He had previously won the Kopa Trophy in 2024, following Spain’s triumph at the European Championships.
During the 2024–25 season, Yamal played a pivotal role in Barcelona’s domestic treble, helping the club secure La Liga, the Copa del Rey, and the Spanish Super Cup. He contributed 18 goals and 25 assists across all competitions, earning widespread acclaim for his talent and consistency. Several Inter Milan players even named him their toughest opponent of the season.
Yamal’s consecutive victories highlight Barcelona’s strong presence in the Kopa Trophy history, joining club compatriots Pedri (2021) and Gavi (2022) as past winners.
At the same ceremony, Barcelona’s Vicky López claimed the inaugural women’s Kopa Trophy, underscoring the club’s success in nurturing young talent.
Yamal’s back-to-back triumphs cement his status as one of football’s brightest rising stars.
