Nnamdi Kanu Reshuffles IPOB Leadership Structure
The Indigenous People of Biafra has announced a major leadership restructuring with the dissolution of its third Directorate of State (DOS) administration and the inauguration of a fourth leadership team.
The announcement was made by its leader, Nnamdi Kanu, who also approved new appointments to guide the group’s operations.
The new structure names Chris Nwaọgụ, based in the United States, as head of the fourth DOS administration.
He is expected to oversee coordination and daily activities of the organisation alongside a newly appointed team drawn from different regions across the world.
The dissolved third administration, led by Chika Edoziem, was replaced following internal assessments that pointed to gaps in leadership focus, internal disagreements, and concerns over the handling of welfare issues affecting detained members.
The group said these challenges affected unity and slowed its broader objectives.
The newly formed leadership includes representatives across finance, media, welfare, and regional coordination.
The group said the restructuring is aimed at improving organisation, restoring internal cohesion, and strengthening communication channels as it continues its political agenda and advocacy efforts.
