Northern Group Condemns Tinubu’s Govt Handling Of Insecurity
The Northern Comrades Movement of Nigeria has raised fresh concerns over the worsening security situation across the country, saying many communities are living in fear as attacks by bandits, terrorists and kidnappers continue.
The group spoke at an emergency press conference in Kaduna, where it called for urgent action from government authorities.
The organisation said states including Zamfara, Katsina, Sokoto, Kebbi, Kaduna, Niger, Benue, Plateau, Borno, Yobe and Oyo have witnessed deadly attacks in recent months.
According to the group, hundreds of people have been killed, many others injured, while thousands have been forced to flee their homes due to persistent violence.
Its National Chairman, Mallam Jabir Ibrahim Yaro, warned that insecurity was also affecting farming activities, with many farmers unable to access their lands.
He said the situation was threatening food production, worsening poverty and creating hardship for rural communities already struggling to survive.
The group also expressed concern over renewed attacks linked to Boko Haram, ISWAP and the Lakurawa armed group, as well as the growing number of security personnel killed in the line of duty.
It urged the Federal Government to take stronger and more practical steps to tackle the crisis, insisting that protecting lives and property remains the primary duty of government.
The organisation vowed to continue pushing for accountability until meaningful progress is achieved.
