2Face Idibia has openly declared Burna Boy as Nigeria’s number one artist at the moment, emphasizing that the self-acclaimed African Giant stands out as the leader and “senior” among the current generation of Nigerian musicians.
During a recent interview with Urban FM in Enugu, the legendary ‘African Queen’ crooner explained that while he admires several contemporary artists, Burna Boy currently occupies the top spot in his personal ranking.
“On a personal level, Burna Boy is my number one. Although I still have other artists that I admire. But personally as an artist, Burna Boy is my number one right now. Among all the others I am referring to, he is the senior. There are still other ones coming up behind him that I see going to the same level,” 2Face said.
He noted that Burna Boy’s dominance is not only a reflection of his global achievements but also his consistency, artistry, and influence, which place him ahead of his peers. At the same time, 2Face acknowledged that several younger artists are rising fast and could reach similar heights in the future.
