ADC Clears Atiku, Amaechi And Others For Primaries
The African Democratic Congress has cleared former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, former Rivers State Governor Rotimi Amaechi and economist Mohammed Hayatu-Deen to take part in its presidential primary ahead of the 2027 elections.
The decision followed the party’s screening exercise in Abuja.
The screening was handled by a committee led by Senator Liyel Imoke, where the three aspirants and other candidates for various elective positions were assessed.
The party also cleared dozens of governorship, senatorial and House of Representatives hopefuls across the country.
ADC said preparations for its presidential primary scheduled for Monday have been completed, with electoral officials deployed nationwide to manage the process.
It expressed confidence that the exercise would run without major issues.
Hayatu-Deen later urged all aspirants to publicly commit to the party’s code of ethics, saying it is designed to promote integrity, accountability and responsible leadership in politics.
