Oyo Begins Road Compensation Payment
The Oyo State Government has started paying compensation to residents and property owners affected by the ongoing expansion and reconstruction of the Ojoo and Akinyele road in Ibadan.
The project is part of efforts to improve traffic flow and road infrastructure in the area.
Officials said the compensation exercise is aimed at reducing the hardship faced by people whose buildings and businesses were impacted by the road project.
Property owners have reportedly begun receiving payments from the government.
The reconstruction work covers the busy Ojoo and Akinyele axis, a major route linking Ibadan to other parts of the country.
Authorities said the project is expected to improve transportation and ease movement for motorists and commuters.
The government also appealed to affected residents to cooperate with contractors handling the project.
It assured the public that the road expansion would bring long-term economic and transport benefits to the state.
