ADC Leaders Denies Access To El Rufai
Leaders of the African Democratic Congress were on Friday denied access to former Kaduna State Governor Nasir El-Rufai at the custody facility of the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission in Abuja.
The visit was made by top officials of the opposition party.
Among those reportedly prevented from seeing El-Rufai were ADC National Secretary Rauf Aregbesola, National Publicity Secretary Bolaji Abdullahi and party chieftain Salihu Lukman.
The development was disclosed by Abdullahi through a post on social media.
The ADC has continued to criticise the detention of El-Rufai, accusing the federal government of using state institutions against opposition figures.
The party earlier described the former governor as a political prisoner and demanded his release through lawful means.
A Federal High Court in Abuja had earlier granted El-Rufai bail with strict conditions, including a ₦100 million bond, surrender of international passports and monthly reporting to the Department of State Services pending the conclusion of the case.
