ADC Supporters Plan Massive Abuja Rally
A political coalition backing the African Democratic Congress has announced plans for a 5,000-man solidarity march ahead of the 2027 elections.
The Coalition for Democratic Transparency unveiled the move during a press briefing in Zaria, where it also endorsed former Vice President Atiku Abubakar for the presidency.
The group said it wants stronger democracy, transparent elections and better leadership across Nigeria.
The coalition’s National Coordinator, Shehu-Abdullahi Biye, said members from all six geopolitical zones had agreed to support Atiku because of his political experience and national reach.
He explained that the group believes the former vice president can tackle economic challenges, improve governance and rebuild public confidence in national institutions.
According to the coalition, the planned march will take place in Abuja on June 27 and is expected to draw thousands of supporters from different parts of the country.
Organisers said the rally would promote democratic participation and send a message that Nigerians want fair elections and accountable leadership in 2027.
The coalition also urged Nigerians to register for voting, collect their Permanent Voter Cards and take part in the electoral process.
It called on INEC, security agencies and other stakeholders to ensure credible elections, adding that its campaign is focused on national unity, fairness and improved living conditions for citizens.
