El Rufai NSA Phone Case Heard In Abuja Court
Former Kaduna State governor Nasir El-Rufai, the DSS and National Security Adviser Nuhu Ribadu are central to a case being heard at a Federal High Court in Abuja.
The hearing focuses on claims linked to alleged comments about intercepted phone conversations involving the NSA. The matter came up during ongoing proceedings in the capital.
The case stems from allegations tied to cybercrime and communications laws over possible unlawful interception of private calls.
A prosecution witness told the court he was present at a TV station when El-Rufai made remarks during an interview.
The witness said the former governor referred to listening to conversations involving the NSA, and the broadcast was later used as evidence in court.
The witness also explained that security operatives later contacted him after the interview to clarify what he observed.
El-Rufai’s lawyers challenged aspects of the account, arguing the statement did not directly confirm hacking but referred to intercepted conversations.
The prosecution presented video footage and documents which were accepted by the court.
The case remains ongoing as the court continues to examine the evidence. El-Rufai is facing multiple counts relating to alleged interception of communications and related offences.
The matter is still before the judge, with further hearing expected.
