Nollywood actress and filmmaker Bimbo Ademoye has accused an individual of copyright theft, claiming it has affected the earnings from her YouTube film Where Love Lives.

Ademoye revealed that her movie was demonetised after a person allegedly claimed ownership of a song featured in the film. She further alleged that the same individual uploaded the track on Spotify and other digital streaming platforms, presenting himself as the original creator.

The film, released in December 2025, had already garnered over 18 million views online before the monetisation issue arose.

Taking to Instagram, Ademoye expressed her anger and warned the alleged offender to retract the claim or face serious legal consequences.

“I woke up to monetization on our movie Where Love Lives being taken down. A song I fully own, with approval from the artist, was lifted and claimed by one Emmanuel Davies. Not only did he steal MY SONG, he claimed the copyrights and took the monetization, essentially claiming the movie’s earnings as his,” she wrote.

She continued: “I do all my research before uploading a movie and pay for every soundtrack I use. Why someone would steal my song and claim it as theirs, I don’t know. Emmanuel Davies, until I see you behind bars, I will not rest. I’m letting the authorities handle this. Anyone with information on him, please email me. Thank you.”

Ademoye also referenced a previous copyright dispute involving another individual, Anwuli, emphasizing that she would not settle out of court:

“PS. Anwuli, you did the same thing to me for To Be a Friend. I hear you want to settle out of court. I decline. You caused me to lose a movie with 6 million views. Now I want closure through a court ruling.”

The actress affirmed that she is determined to protect her work and ensure that anyone attempting to exploit her creative content is held accountable.
