Nigerian music star Burna Boy has been ranked the number one Afrobeats artist of 2025 by global streaming platform Spotify.
The announcement came with the release of Spotify’s 2025 Top Afrobeats Artists list, which was dominated entirely by Nigerians. Burna Boy took the top spot, followed by Rema at number two and Wizkid at number three. Asake and Roc Nation’s newest signee, Ayra Starr, rounded out the top five.
Notably absent from the list was Davido, who is often regarded as part of Afrobeats’ “Big 3” alongside Burna Boy and Wizkid.
Spotify also revealed the top countries consuming Afrobeats in 2025, with the United States leading the chart, followed by Brazil, France, the United Kingdom, Germany, and Nigeria.
