DeeOne has revealed that he had a romantic relationship with Veekee James in 2018, responding to her recent comments describing him as “unserious.”
The comedian shared on Instagram that their relationship began shortly after his Big Brother Naija stint. He explained that he values his independence and does not like being controlled, recalling times when Veekee would ask him to buy things for her, which he felt crossed a line.
“There’s no bad blood, and it’s not that I didn’t treat her well,” DeeOne said. “Some people in the industry know about this, even her husband, Mr. Femi James, knows. I’m a boyfriend, not a house help.”
Despite the past, DeeOne wished Veekee and her husband well, saying he admires their work and has moved on. He also urged fans not to take celebrity matters personally, noting that some aspects of the entertainment industry are not widely known.
“To be honest, I wish them the best. I’m not a hater and I have moved on,” he added. “From me, it’s all love. Don’t take this personally—there are things in the entertainment industry people don’t know about, and the reason I’m saying this is because she’s the one talking negatively about me.”
