Desmond Elliot Rejects APC Primary Result
Lagos lawmaker Desmond Elliot has rejected the outcome of the All Progressives Congress primary election for Surulere constituency I.
The actor-turned-politician lost his bid to secure another ticket for the Lagos State House of Assembly.
The APC primary held on Wednesday produced Barakat Odunuga-Bakare as the winner of the contest.
She reportedly enjoyed strong backing from Femi Gbajabiamila, the Chief of Staff to President Bola Tinubu.
Reacting after the exercise, Elliot said he would challenge the outcome through the party’s appeal process.
He maintained that his camp would not accept the result without taking further action within the APC structure.
The development has stirred fresh political tension in Surulere as supporters of both camps continue to react to the result.
Elliot has represented Surulere constituency I in the Lagos Assembly for several years.
