Ekiti Assures Schools And Communities Of Safety
Ekiti State Government has assured residents that schools and communities remain safe despite security concerns in parts of the country.
The reassurance was given on Monday in Ado Ekiti during a meeting with school administrators. Security agencies said they are working together to maintain peace across the state.
The Special Adviser on Security, Brig Gen Ebenezer Ogundana (retd), said the government remains committed to protecting lives and strengthening safety measures.
He described Ekiti as one of the safest states and urged residents to support security efforts. He also warned against spreading false information that could cause panic.
The Commissioner of Police, Michael Falade, and DSS Director, Nka Obi-Bisong, said security agencies are taking proactive steps to prevent threats.
They called for stronger cooperation between schools, communities and security operatives. Schools were advised to improve fencing, lighting, surveillance and general safety measures.
The police also warned against false reports of attacks on schools in several parts of the state. It said such claims have caused unnecessary fear among residents and could attract legal action.
Citizens were urged to verify information, remain calm and report suspicious movements to security agencies.
