APC Begins Reconciliation After Primaries
The All Progressives Congress has begun steps to manage tensions that followed its nationwide primaries ahead of the 2027 elections.
Party National Chairman Nentawe Yilwatda said the ruling party has activated its internal conflict resolution system to handle complaints from dissatisfied aspirants. He spoke during an interview on Channels Television.
Yilwatda noted that with thousands of aspirants contesting for different positions, it is expected that not everyone will be satisfied with the outcome.
He explained that the party’s structure allows for winners and losers after every contest, adding that efforts are already in place to prevent internal division.
He said the APC conducted one of the most competitive primaries in Nigeria’s political history and described disagreements that followed as normal in politics.
According to him, reconciliation steps have started to unite members and strengthen preparations for the 2027 general elections.
The chairman expressed confidence that the party will remain united, saying APC still enjoys strong national support.
He also pointed to ongoing government programmes and projects as factors that could increase the party’s backing ahead of the next election cycle.
