Nigeria Launches New Export Air Route
Nigeria has opened a new air cargo corridor in partnership with RwandAir to boost export trade and improve access to key African markets.
The route will connect Nigerian exporters directly to Kigali, Lusaka and Harare, easing the movement of goods across the region.
The announcement was made by the Minister of Industry, Trade and Investment, Jumoke Oduwole, who said the development is aimed at expanding Nigeria’s export reach within Africa.
The initiative is expected to support businesses by reducing delays linked to traditional shipping routes.
Officials say the new corridor will help exporters move goods faster and improve trade links between Nigeria and other African countries.
It is also expected to strengthen commercial ties and open new opportunities for small and medium businesses involved in export activities.
The government added that the partnership with RwandAir forms part of broader efforts to improve logistics and support regional trade under existing African trade agreements.
Exporters are expected to begin using the route immediately as operations scale up.
