Emeka Ike Threatens Wike’s Aide Over INEC Leak
Actor and politician Emeka Ike has threatened legal action against Lere Olayinka, aide to FCT Minister Nyesom Wike, over claims that his personal voter details were accessed and shared online.
The actor said the incident amounts to a breach of privacy and abuse of access to sensitive electoral data.
The controversy started after Olayinka posted information said to have been taken from an INEC-related platform, showing details linked to Ike’s voter registration.
The data reportedly included his registration history and transfer from Imo State to the Federal Capital Territory.
Ike, who contested the AMAC/Bwari House of Representatives seat under the Nigerian Democratic Congress and lost, said the exposure of his personal information was unacceptable.
He described the act as reckless and said it raises concerns about how citizens’ data is handled.
He also confirmed during a television interview that he is prepared to take legal steps against Olayinka, insisting that such conduct must not be allowed to continue.
The issue has sparked wider debate on data protection and political conduct in Nigeria.
