The Kaduna State High Court, presided over by Justice A. Bello, has adjourned the trial of a former Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) staff member, Polycarp Andrew, to December 11, 2025.

Andrew, a dismissed exhibit keeper at the Kaduna Zonal Directorate of the EFCC, is facing six charges of criminal breach of trust after allegedly stealing over ₦22 million from exhibits kept under his care. He was reportedly arrested in Taraba State after fleeing when investigations tied him to the missing funds.

During the court proceedings, the defendant pleaded not guilty to all charges. Prosecution counsel, H.M. Mohammed, told the court that he was ready to present two witnesses — an EFCC operative and a representative from Opay Bank.

However, the defence counsel, D.B. Kwajafa, requested an adjournment, stating that he needed more time to review a flash drive containing a video recording of the defendant’s extra-judicial statement, which had only recently been served on him.

Mohammed objected, arguing that the flash drive was irrelevant at this stage of the trial.

After considering both arguments, Justice Bello granted the defence’s request and adjourned the hearing until December 11, 2025.
