NDC Rejects Viral Candidate List Circulating Social Media
The Nigerian Democratic Congress has dismissed candidate lists circulating online and claimed to represent the party in states including Imo, Abia and Anambra.
The party said the documents did not originate from its national leadership and should not be regarded as official.
In a statement issued by National Secretary Barrister Ikenna Alex-Morgan Enekweizu, the party stated that the authentic list of candidates had already been submitted to the Independent National Electoral Commission through the procedures required by law.
It urged members and supporters to rely only on information from authorised party channels.
The NDC alleged that those spreading the lists were attempting to create confusion and division within the party.
It disclosed that investigations had begun to identify the source of the documents and determine how the materials found their way into the public domain.
Despite the controversy, the party said it remained focused on its political plans and internal development.
The leadership also assured members that it would continue to uphold transparency and due process while working with stakeholders across the country.
