The Federal Capital Territory Police Command has dismissed claims of a kidnapping incident at Phase 1 Primary School in Gbagalape, Abuja, saying the report is not true.

The command said there was no abduction recorded in the area as widely circulated on social media.

The clarification came on Wednesday after panic spread among residents following reports suggesting that pupils had been taken from the school premises.

Police authorities moved quickly to verify the situation and found no evidence of any such attack.

According to the command, security operatives visited the school and surrounding areas to assess the situation.

They confirmed that normal activities were ongoing and there was no sign of violence or disruption.

The police urged residents to avoid spreading unverified information that could cause unnecessary fear.

They also reassured the public of continued surveillance and protection of schools across the Federal Capital Territory.
