Confirming the loss, a statement signed by Olawale Akinnaanu on behalf of the family read, “With great sadness 💔😭 we announce the passing of Evangelist Olubunmi Akinnaanu Adeoye OMIJE OJUMI, who passed away on 12th January, 2026, at a Lagos hospital in Nigeria. May God grant her eternal rest🙏.”

Bunmi was celebrated for gospel songs such as Omije Oju Mi and O Ti Sure, which made her a beloved and respected figure within Christian music circles.

In recent months, her health struggles became public after videos circulated online showing her dealing with a swollen leg while seeking divine healing. Throughout that period, colleagues, fellow gospel ministers, and fans continued to stand by her, offering prayers and support until her passing.
